Khaled Meshaal, head of the “Hamas” movement abroad, said that the Gaza Strip is being punished by the blockade imposed on it since 2006 for choosing Hamas in the general elections.
This came in a speech he made during his participation in a festival of the Algerian Peace Society Movement, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of its founding and the Algerian Independence Day.
Meshaal stressed the importance of the concept of multi-directional partnership, pointing out that this is rooted in the thought and literature of Islamic movements.
He said: The open political partnership on the results of the democratic process is important for everyone in bearing the burdens of national action, and that all parties must be ready for this partnership.
The leader of the Hamas movement abroad called on the nation to support the steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinian people, and to engage in the project for the liberation of Palestine, praising the state of Algeria and its positions in support of the Palestinian cause.
He added, directing his speech to the mass audience: “We want your silence in the liberation of Palestine,” stressing that there is no future for the occupation on our land.
